I went to create a nutrient profile & was immediately confused by the nutrient profile list. Why are there so many different nutrient profiles? Are they all based off the U.S. DRI and then adjusted for sex/age/keto/paleo/etc.? Are there other competing DRIs? Common arguments against certain aspects of the U.S. DRI? Does anyone know where I could do further research?
I saw some talk that people who were adding ingredients did not know everything that they were adding because the micronutrients in the ingredient were not disclosed on the package. I can’t recall where I saw that, but I think it had something to do with FDA requirements. Is there some way to know everything I’m getting when I add a certain masa or whey powder?
