People say two things generally: something like a non-descript delicious/general "love" it statements or say that it's pretty neutral.
For my palette it's definitely not neutral at all, not even close. Some get the rancid oil, I get rancid cereal milk (synthetic sugar) so I guess they can't please everyone all the time. You can totally tell someone at RL is going, "Milk is hugely popular! Make it as milk-like as possible!"
I'd be happier with flavored powder but for some reason RL is making us buy water to get pre-flavored Soylent with Nectar and Cocoa. I'd really like to see them ship flavored powder.
It's odd that they don't make a powder 2.0 but maybe there are technical reasons, I dunno. Powder 1.7 to me tastes like what someone would come up with if you told them to make cereal milk but that someone had never actually tasted it and only read what it tasted like. I imagine some checkbox of "features" that is maintained but testing it on a wide enough sample of people is still being worked on. Sadly the only way more people will be satisfied may be for the company to go public and have shareholders.
I actually looked into Vega-One at Whole Foods the other day and it's on a pretty decent sale so I may try that and a little DIY to bring it up to spec.
