Has anyone done a Paleo DIY?

#1

And by that I mean a DIY that has the same profile as a normal Paleo diet.

#2

Like something with no oats/rice/corn? Ketogenic DIY soylent can come really close to that. This one is the most popular: http://diy.soylent.me/recipes/quidnycs-ketofood-for-ongoing-ketosis

#3

Keto leaves me lethargic. Plus, I do crossfit and those two just don’t match.

#4

Yeah so maybe a low carb diet is not a very good idea. Fruits are apparently an acceptable form of carbs under Paleo, but not fruit juice (??). see this

I don’t think a “true” paleo soylent is very realistic. I mean you can like blend fish in a blender and make some kind of fish meat shake, but why not just eat fish directly?

#5

I meant a low carb but not ketogenic diet. But you’re right.

#6

I just designed a custom recipe this week for someone who wanted a recipe based on the 20/15/65 macros of the Perfect Health Diet, based on studies of hunter-gatherer diets:

Why the vanilla rice protein?

#8

He wanted something that would taste like Soylent. :stuck_out_tongue:

#9

So it’s just normal rice protein? You could replace it with any other protein?

#10

It’s organic brown rice protein with natural vanilla flavor. Not sure what you mean by “normal rice protein”. :stuck_out_tongue:

And no, you can’t just swap out protein sources without adjusting other macronutrients and micronutrients - rice protein has a very different nutritional makeup than whey protein isolate, for example.

Interesting. Not sure I can find that.

I haven’t really seen any Paleo specific blends but your post reminded me of this.
