Question Regarding Dicalcium Phosphate

#1

Hi all,

I noticed that my multivitamin uses Dicalcium Phosphate, and lists the ingredient under “Calcium” at 125mg. According to this source, Dicalcium Phosphate is 29.1% Calcium by mass.

Is that 125mg referenced all Calcium, or all Dicalcium Phosphate? If the former, then I’ve got 125mg of Calcium. If the latter, I have 36.375mg of Calcium. Obviously that’s a big difference if we’re going for accurate calculations.

While I know that noone will know in specific how each manufacturer chooses to label their products, I was hoping that there would be a standard labeling format to go off of here. FYI, this product is in Canada.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I would assume the former… 125mg of Calcium. Only way to be 100% sure is to query the manufacture.
