Soylent contains ... CHEMICALS

#1

I can’t believe it. But I just discovered, that soylent actually contains CHEMICALS.

I mean, seriously. CHEMICALS. And we all know what chemicals are able to do.
Even wikipedia says this:

The vast majority of explosives are chemicals. (SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA)

In other words, by drinking soylent, you will fill your body up with EXPLOSIVES.
I am very serious here. This is DANGEROUS stuff. Everybody that drinks soylent on a regular basis is like a time ticking BOMB.

Look at this photo:

I mean that this guy wants to drink chemicals, I have no problem with that. But look at this innocent cat, this cat thinks everything is going all right, not knowing that the boss is drinking CHEMICALS, and that the boss may EXPLODE at any moment !

So what is the SOLUTION for all this ?

If you have received your soylent, make sure that you are very carefull with it. In that case, it is likely that it won’t explode. Then send it to me ASAP We have here in the netherlands a very good way to handle explosives like this.

EVERYTHING WILL BE ALL RIGHT

But send it to me. Contact me with PM,and I will make sure everything will be all right.

Do it for the cat

chuckle thanks for giving me a laugh today.

And for the love of God, DON"T SHAKE IT!

No cats were exploded in the making of this video. There was however some intense and potentially excessive purring. And fur shedding. Fortunately these things did not trigger any volatile reaction in this case, however additional safety procedures are now being put in place for all future videos. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. You may now return to your regularly scheduled life, already in progress.

(and thanks for the huge LOL :))

CHEMICALS!?
I’m not putting such things in my body temple, I only eat and drink chemical free food:

I approve of this thread.

I also know that drinking Soylent will expose your body to the sometimes dangerous and deadly chemical Dihydrogen Monoxide. Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colorless and odorless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the highly reactive hydroxyl radical, a species shown to mutate DNA, denature proteins, disrupt cell membranes, and chemically alter critical neurotransmitters. The atomic components of DHMO are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.

What are some of the dangers associated with DHMO?

Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment. Some of the known perils of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:

  • Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.

  • Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.

  • Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.

  • DHMO is a major component of acid rain.

  • Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.

  • Contributes to soil erosion.

  • Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.

  • Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.

  • Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.

  • Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.

  • Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.

  • Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.

  • Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.

I hate that I seriously am going to say this but…

This is a joke thread. For the benefit of those who may come along in the future and find this post, I really hope you realize that this is a joke. Please go look up “Dihydrogen Monoxide” before you react! LOL

Sad that we need to explain sarcasm/humor. :scream_cat:

#10

Yeah it really is… but that DHMO website is playing it SO STRAIGHT that I can totally see someone citing this as reasons why Soylent is dangerous and going on some insane crusade and sweeping up tons of support. Stupider things have happened. LOL

#11

I hear that Soylent is made out of the same chemicals used to make yoga mats!!!

And it probably has estrogenic properties and causes asthma and aspergers. And kills kittens and polar bears. And, what about the children???

#12

From what I hear, the first few days on Soylent are along the lines of a Chemical Weapon attack, so there’s that…

#13

Weapons of Ass Destruction?

#14

That sounds like a porn flick title.

#15

So true, so unfortunately true…

#16

Spoilers:

Dihydrogen Monoxide is… WATER!

Also:

Soylent Green is… PEOPLE!

#17

I’d like to point out that Soylent is virtually free of DHMO. The problem is that a lot of unsuspecting users will be adding this to their Soylent meals. I can assure you that once DHMO and any related compounds are added to Soylent, the mass of the solution increases dramatically. (Note: someone may now wish to consider doing a study to see if this weight increase in their product due to the inclusion of the potentially-deadly DHMO is contributing to the obesity epidemic.) Also, one should consider that a Soylent powder spill is easily cleaned. Yet, once this corrosive chemical (DHMO) has been added, any spill leads to a hard to remove mess that could, at its worst, warrant the use of a HazMat suit.

#18

Actually, it IS a porn title.

#19

Why am I not at all surprised to hear that. The saddest part is, that actually didn’t cross my mind as I was typing it… I clearly don’t have a dirty enough mind. I’ll get right to work on that.

< heads off into the bowels of the interwebs… >

kind of like how crazed house wives went on a holy crusade to destroy Dungeons and dragons, because quote “It is devil worship.” They believed this because of some even where a egotistical collage student who played D&D went into his shcool’s steam tunnels while they were closed during a leak. He told some other students that he was going to fix the leak. The housewives got together saying D&D warps the mind using brainwashing and made him think it was a dungeon.

D&D is one of the few sources that kids who are shunned by society can work on their social skills, meet new friends, and argue for hours on how to go about opening a single stupid door before one of them just kicks it down. How can you believe you are in a dungeon fighting monsters when you are arguing with each other for hours about the correct way to open a door?
